Nothing to Eat

She had nothing to eat.
They made a film about her
because she had nothing to eat.
Her husband
was killed in the war.
They wrote a book about
how he was killed in the war.
Her brother and her mother
were executed by the revolutionary guards.
There was an opera about it.
Both her children died.
(there was no hospital).
You can see the photographs
at an exhibition in London.
Then somebody wrote a poem.
Still
she had nothing to eat.
He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven

Had I the heaven’s embroidered cloths,

The blue and the dim and the dark cloths

I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because your tread on my dreams.

Em 'Nothing to Eat' observa-se que cada estrofe fala de uma tragédia e o resultado disso: fizeram um filme, escreveram um livro, exibiram fotografias e conclui informando que "Still she had nothing to eat." Ou seja, todos se comoveram, viram a dificuldade da mulher, alguns ganharam dinheiro, mas ninguém a ajudou.
Em 'He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven', no título já é dito "he wishes".
Tudo que é exposto no poema é apenas sonho, desejo, vontade, mas o indivíduo não tem condições de realizar esses desejos.
Com isso, percebe-se que ambos os poemas descrevem uma situação de miséria que muitas pessoas enfrentam. Denunciam também a falta de solidariedade e amor ao próximo, já que no primeiro alguns são testemunhas e vivem sendo custeados, ao abordarem trabalhos artísticos, da situação miserável do próximo, mas não há uma prática. São meros sofismas, verdade que não saem do mundo da ideologia.
E no segundo, o indivíduo tem seus sonhos e joga aos pés de alguém, onde ele cita que esse alguém ainda pisa nos sonhos dele. Uma situação de advertência para as pessoas que sufocam e desestimulam a realização dos sonhos de outras pessoas.
Então no primeiro poema, relata a passividade quanto a ceder ajuda diante de presenciar a dificuldade, no segundo há uma ação ativa em destruir as esperanças.
